Dundee Vineyards 2008 Pinot Noir Heron Vineyard
Tasting Notes
An exceptional presentation of Dundee Hills Pinot Noir. Medium ruby in the glass with a nose of spices and vanilla. The flavors dark fruit into pleasant oak and earth. The finish is long and smooth, with subtle tannins and balanced acids. As with all of Aron’s Pinot Noir, this Pinot will age exceeding well.
The 2008 Vintage
The 2008 vintage is set to be one of the Ages for Oregon Vineyards. The spring and summer were unusually cool. Especially, the months of June and July. In an effort to ensure optimal quality, crop loads were reduced. September and October were nearly perfect months for optimal Pinot Noir development. Days in the high 80’s and low 90’s were followed by nighttime temperature in the low 40’s. These temperature profiles make for optimal flavor and complexity development in the vineyards.
NOTE: The 2008 Heron Pinot Noir is only available directly from Red Ridge Farms and is in an allotment of 1/2 case per customer. Additional purchases are available to our club members.
