Iron & Wine Feast
Wine, olive oil and cast iron have been at the center of home kitchens for thousands of years – The Wilderness Hunters (Eric Bartle and Sara Kundelius) know just how to make these kitchen essentials sing in the 21st century. Celebrate winter’s close with Oregon’s finest wine & wild food, cooked with Oregon’s only olive oil in – you guessed it – Oregon-made cast iron cookware.Founded in 2012, FINEX Cast Iron Cookware Company is a small team of Portland-based perfectionists dedicated to making heirloom quality cast iron cookware in North America for the first time in well over half a century.
Husband and wife chef/farmer couple, The Wilderness Hunters, have worked to integrate the farm-to-table ethos into all aspects of their personal and professional lives, from raising turkeys, sheep, laying hens and meat chickens to growing and preserving their annual garden bounty. In conjunction with their passion for growing the best ingredients, fostered by Chef Eric’s years in the kitchen of James Beard Award winner Greg Higgins, these two spend their free time exploring the forests, mountains, rivers and coastline of Oregon in search of choice wild mushrooms and edibles, Oregon truffles, wild game, fish and shellfish.
